TESCO cuts power supply to Headquarters Ghalanai and Chanda Bazars of Mohmand.

MOHMAND: The Tribal Electric Supply Company (TESCO) has cuts power supply to the district headquarters Ghalanai and Chnada Bazars of Halimzai tehsil of the Mohmand district from the last four months.

Gulab Khan a shopkeeper in Ghalanai Bazar told that the Tesco has disconnected power supply to almost, 500 shops in the Ghalanai and Chanda bazars after the shopkeepers and traders refused to install power meters and paying bills at their bazars.

“We are facing numerous problems in this hot weather without fan and cold drinking water,” said Khan.

He accused the local grid officials that they are unlawfully colleting a major chunk of money from marble factories owners.

He said that at last Ramazan the shopkeeper approached to the local MNA Sajid Khan Mohmand and he negotiated with WAPDA officials and restored power supply for three hours and after that it was disconnected.

Another shopkeeper Ibrahim Khan in Chanda Bazar said that power supply to their shops and market was suspended despite that all the shopkeepers only utilizing one fan and ordinary lights.

He told that Ghalanai and Chanda are the local small markets which have no such large business and malls which will burden on WAPDA.

Wakeel Khan a shopkeeper in headquarters bazar said that WAPDA has disconnected power supply four months ago due to which our freezers were out of orders and the customers did not finding cold drinks and ice creams in the district headquarters bazar Ghalanai.

He demanded of the high ups of the WAPDA to restore the power supply to the local bazars and markets as supplied to the others parts of merged districts.

When contacted Ali Asghar Khan XEN Operation Northern Division TESCO said that we are supplying only two three hours power supply on subsidized rates only to the domestic users while Tesco has started a drive against those commercial consumers who are utilizing these subsidized power supply.

“ Local markets, bazars and shops are commercials that is why Tesco are installing power meters and those who refuses of meters their power supply connections were disconnected,” said Ali Asghar.

 Ali Asghar Khan said that the Tesco has set up three express line power feeders these are in Ekkaghund, Ghalanai and Khar Bajaur so that lightened the local markets of these area so that to attract more and more customers at dart timing.

He said that after that we kick off a power meters installation drive in these bazars but now, we are facing a strong resisting from Ghalanai and Chanda Bazars.

XEN told that when we are installing the power meters the shopkeepers are refusing and that is why Tesco has cut of the power supply from the last four months.

He added that we disconnected the power supply form the two bazars but sometime the shopkeepers reconnected their connections own at night timings which is an illegal and strict action will be taken against those who will be involved in it.

It will be mentioned here that Mohmand district is facing 22 hours power supply load shedding on domestic feeders due to which the local residents facing acute shortages of drinking water in the area.

The local residents demanded of the WAPDA high ups to reduce the irregular power outages in the area.

Tribesmen protests blocked Pak-Afghan Gursal route.

The local residents of border areas of Khewazai and Baizai protested and blocked the main Pak Afghan Gursal trade route with Afghanistan for their fundamental rights here on the other day.

The protesters led by a social activist and worker Tafseer Khan Momand and blocked the Pak-Afghan highway for several hours

The locals’ residents were protested and demanding for providing of PTCL landline, mobile network electricity supply to homes in Khewazai Baizai tehsils and to ensure attendance of relevant staffs in the basic health units and schools.

In the end Chairmans of the Khewazai Baizai Sub-Division Maulana Bismillah John Rahimi held talks with DSP Jan Muhammad and Tehsildar Abdur Rahman and dispersed the protest in all peaceful ways.

The protestors have given a deadline till Eid-ul-Adha, if all these issues are not resolved, they will boycott the polio drops and close the Main Peshawar Bajaur express way at Karapa.

PRCS should involved youth of Mohmand in positive activities.

GHALANAI, May 27: Deputy Commissioner Mohmand and Chairman of Pakistan Red Crescent Society of Mohmand District Arifullh Awan today visited the office of Pakistan Red Crescent Society Mohmand District established at Ghalanai headquarters here on other day.

The Deputy Commissioner was welcomed by Fauzee Khan, District Secretary, PRCS Mohmand District, staff and volunteers.

District Program Officer Irfanullah Khan explained on the activities of PRCS Mohmand District.

District Secretary Fauzee Khan Mohmand told the Deputy Commissioner about the difficulties of PRCS Mohmand District.

Deputy Commissioner Mohmand Arifullh Awan while appreciating the activities of PRCS Mohmand District said that PRCS should involve the youth of Mohmand District in positive activities.

He said that Pakistan Red Crescent is increasingly participating in humanitarian activities and its role was always supportive to the district administration.

He assured all kinds of cooperation from the district administration to the Red Crescent of Mohmand district.

Deputy Commissioner Mohmand Arifullh Awan said that the he would start efforts to arrange land for the construction of office for Pakistan Red Crescent Society in Mohmand.

“I would take off the case for land acquisition with the office of Senior Member of Board of Revenue (SMBR) soon” said Awan.

Deputy Commissioner told that he would talked to the health departments Mobile Health Hospital in remote areas of Mohmand District.

Deputy Commissioner Mohmand said that he will talk to different departments by applying different means and methods for raising of funds for PRCS Mohmand district branch.

Deputy Commissioner Arifullh Awan said that PRCS would raise funds for Mohmand District by imparting commercial first aid training to Marble Mines Owners of Mohmand District.

At end, District Secretary PRCS Fauzee Khan Mohmand presented a shield and gift from PRCS Mohmand to the Deputy Commissioner Mohmand.

Tribesmen demands end of irregular power outages in the tribal district.


GHALANAI, Jan 25: The locals tribesmen of  Mohmand has demanded of the  TESCO and district administration to immediately stop the irregular power outages in various areas and localities of the tribal district the demands was made in a Kuli Kuchri held here at Ghalanai Jirga Hall of Mohmand Tribal district here on the other day.
In Pursuance with the directives from provincial government and following the direction of Chief Secretary KP Dr. Kazim Niaz today Kuli Katcheri was held chaired by Deputy Commissioner Mohmand Iftikhar Alam.
On the occasion MPA Nisar Mohmand, Assistant Commissioner Biazai Abdul Wahab, Executive Engineer TESCO Sheraz Khan, Assistant Commissioner Upper Mohmand Hamid Iqbal, Heads and representatives of Education, Health, Works & Services Department, Public Health, Agriculture, and Forest in Mohmand were also present on the occasion.
Large number of locals along with youth of the area participated in Kuli Katcheri and appreciated the initiative of the Provincial government for hearing/ redressal of their grievances at their doorstep.
The Locals residents presented the issue/problems one by one and the same forwarded/ responded by the concerned head of the line departments.
MPA Nisar Mohmand urged the TESCO officials that immediately stop irregular load shedding in the area and ensure maximum power supply to the tribesmen.
MPA flays the TESCO officials that they have given double sources connection to the blued eyed peoples while general consumers were living in dark nights.
He gave a 20 days deadline to the TESCO to mend their ways others ways they will start protest in the entire tribal district.
Nisar Mohmand said that the TESCO has given free hands and special feeder to the steel mills in the area and receiving money from the owners of steel factories.
“Mostly PTI workers and government servants were included in the list of Dispute Resolution Council (DRC) and Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR) in the area which is unacceptable to us” said Mohmand.
He said that government flour quoata was also allotted to the PTI workers in the entire tribal district and they are politicizing the issue while tribesmen were facing problems to get flour.
MPA Nisar Mohmand also said that a Ruler of Communication & Works department was stolen from Prang Ghar tehsil from the last four months ago but neither police nor the local administration took action.
Executive Engineer TESCO Sheraz Khan said that they know the local residents were facing problems due to low voltage and power outages in the area
 
 Deputy Commissioner Iftikhar Alam stressed upon the TESCO and others departments to solve the masses problems on priority basis.
He said that the district administration will holds meeting with TESCO officials and locals parliamentarians to resolve the power load shedding in the Upper Mohmand areas.

Peace has been restored in tribal district Mohmand.


Peace has been restored in the tribal district due to sacrifices rendered by security forces and locals tribesmen this was told by Additional Deputy Commissioner Irfan Ullah Khan Wazir while speaking on the concluding ceremony of fourth All Mohmand Private Schools Sports Festival here at Capt Rohullah Shaheed Sports Stadium Ghalanai on Monday.

The event jointly organized by Pakistan Red Crescent Mohmand tribal District and All Private Schools Association Mohmand.
On the Occasion Assistant Commissioner Lower Mohmand Touseef Khalid, Sports Manager Saeed Akhtar, District Program Officer PRCS Irfan Khan Mohmand, Principals, teachers and students of various Schools were also present.
Addressing on the occasion Additional Deputy Commissioner Irfan Ullah Khan Wazir told that Peace has been restored in the area and development works are continued in the tribal district.
Additional Deputy Commissioner urged the youth and tribal elders to actively participates in the sports festival and motivate their youngsters.
He added that peace had been restored to the tribal areas because of matchless sacrifices rendered by the personnel of law enforcement agencies and tribe’s people.
Apprising the roles and activities of PRCS, he told that PRCS is the only organization who installed “Wall of Kindness “in the merged districts for the first time.
 He said that the today’s event was evident to the fact that peace had been restored to tribal areas. The ADC Mohmand said that the district administration with support of agency Sports department and PRCS would provide equal opportunities to the tribal youth; tribal elders to enable them play their role in the nation building.
